Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the 22nd season, premiering on CBS 5 August 2018. Chen Moonves served as moderator as well as one of the original hosts of The Talk. In her final academic year at the university, she worked as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). Her first position in broadcasting was working as a desk assistant to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline together with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' heros. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel on the Columbia duPont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focused on the Los Angeles riots of '92.
